The New Way:

The New Way:

The new way is with digital technology and the Internet. Thanks to technological advancements, people can now order book printing online. Those books can then be digitally printed after each order. That means the person paying for the book spends the money, not the person who wrote it or the publishing house.

Typically, the publishing company that runs the website and the author just split a portion of each sale. That way, everyone is happy and more profits can be made. So, everyone wins.

Everyone Is Doing It:

Unfortunately, the good point that anyone can be an author is also a bad point. Since anyone can now write anything, not all information can be trusted. Nobody has to have credentials, experiences or be certain ages to use POD technology to get published.

That also means that a lot of works published the new way are full of typos and incorrect facts. Much of what is written is all Dependant upon the author's interpretation of events and abilities as a typist and writer. Some authors do go the extra mile to get their work professionally edited and their facts checked, but it's hard to weed their works out of a see of useless books.
